Magnetometric survey in the Deep of Gdansk report available

The Polish Naval Academy, in collaboration with the Maritime Institute in Gdansk, conducted a magnetometric survey in the area of Gdansk Deep and the report is now available!

The surveyed area was selected based on results of previously conducted hydroacoustic surveys that revealed a number of artillery shell-like objects on the sea bottom in the Gdansk Deep. The aim of the magnetometric survey was primarily to confirm the ferromagnetic character of the objects detected with hydroacoustics methods, and secondly to detect objects of ferromagneti character that are covered with bottom sediments. The survey resulted in identification of spots that will be inspected with underwater Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) in order to collect samples of sediments for further laboratory analyses.
