Call for papers for the 4th International Dialogue on Underwater Munitions


The call for papers for the 4th International Dialogue on Underwater Munitions (IDUM) is now open. Following a successfull 3rd IDUM in Sopot, Poland, which focused on the Baltic Sea region, the 4th IDUM will be held in San Juan, Puerto Rico from 1 – 3 October, 2012.


Papers will be accepted until August 15th, 2012. Interested parties should send an abstract of their proposed presentation (approximately 250 words) in both PDF and Word format to Terrance P. Long, papers@underwatermunitions.org with the subject heading: Paper for Fourth IDUM. Papers will be reviewed by the International Scientific Advisory Board (ISAB) on Sea Dumped Chemical Weapons (SDW's) in The Hague.

Who are we?

CHEMSEA (Chemical Munitions, Search and Assessment) is a flagship project of the Baltic Sea Region Strategy, financed by the EU Baltic Sea Region Programme 2007-2013. The project was initiated in autumn 2011 and will last through early 2014. It has a budget of 4.5M, which is part-financed by the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund. The project is under the leadership of the Institute of Oceanology of the Polish Academy of Sciences (IOPAN).
